Parliament did not support the draft law of Eka Beselia

The Parliament did not support the draft law prepared by Eka Beselia and her associates. The bill was brought to vote several minutes ago. It gained support of only 45 MPs, while 17 voted against, therefore the quorum was not met.The draft law required support of 76 MPs for the first hearing.
The draft law provides for the amendments to the Organic Law on Common Courts that envisages suspension of the appointment of judges for life tenure in the city courts and court of appeals until 31 December 2024.
