Belarus President wants to improve relations with the West. In his annual address Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus was ready for a new stage of cooperation with Washington and the European Union but only under conditions of equal partnership.

After peace talks in Minsk, the EU diplomats have begun to talk about improving relations with Belarus.
However, the EU"s visa restrictions still apply to President Lukashenko and his entourage of about 200 people.
