Protesters gathered near the Parliament – opposition id not going to picket a building

Opposition members and civil activists are gathering outside the Parliament, near the entrance from Chitadze Street.

The situation on the area is still calm and right now the number of law enforcers is small.

Civil activists and members of the opposition told Kurieri that the picketing of the entrances of the Parliament is not planned today. They will make shame corridor to the MPs of the parliamentary majority and the candidate for Prosecutor General Irakli Shotadze.

According to Anzor Bitsadze, one of the leaders of the United Georgia, said the rally would continue in a peaceful manner.

“Bidzina Ivanishvili appointed Giorgi Gakharia as the Prime Minister after the public had been demanding his resignation as Interior Minister; it was followed by the failure of transition to the proportional elections. Now we have about the same situation. Irakli Shotadze, who resigned as a result of the public outcry, has now been appointed as Prosecutor General, and it is hard to predict what the next surprise will be”, - concluded Anzor Bitsadze
