External trade turnover increased compared to the same period of 2025 - GeoStat publishes data for January-July

In January-July 2026 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 15 519.2 million, 7.5% higher year-on-year, reads the report of GeoStat.

The exports equaled 4 670.2 million (21.6% higher), while the imports stood at USD 10 849.0 million (2.4% higher). The negative trade balance was USD 6 178.9 million in January-July 2026 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 39.8%.

In January-July 2026 the share of the top-10 trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 70.2%. The top partners were Kyrgyzstan (USD 521.2 million), China (USD 493.0 million) and Russia (USD 437.5 million).

In January-July 2026 the share of the top-10 trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 70.6%. The top partners were Türkiye (USD 1 652.1 million), Russia (USD 1 377.9 million) and China (USD 1 299.7 million).

In January-July 2026 the share of the top-10 trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 66.3%. The top trading partners were Türkiye (USD 1 960.1 million), Russia (USD 1 815.4 million) and China (USD 1 792.7 million).

In January-July 2026 motor cars claimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 1 160.7 million with 24.9% of total exports. The exports of petroleum and petroleum oils totaled USD 571.5 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 12.2%. The exports of precious metal ores and concentrates occupied the third place standing at USD 356.3 million and constituting 7.6% of the total exports.

The top import commodities in January-July 2026 were motor cars, whose imports equaled USD 2 033.0 million (18.7% of the total imports). The petroleum and petroleum oils followed in the list with USD 967.4 million (8.9% of imports). The Medicaments put up in measured doses were third in the top import commodity list with USD 422.6 million (3.9% of imports).
