Police continues to reinforce quarantine restrictions imposed in Mestia municipality

Based on the decision of Inter-Agency Coordination Council, due to high epidemiological risk, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue to monitor the enforcement of quarantine restrictions in round-the-clock regime. At this moment, situation in the municipality is stable. Without any incidents overnight, the situation is fully under control.


Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are conducting intensive patrolling activities to maintain public order and security. During the last night, law enforcers provided local population, as well as the visitors in the mentioned area with comprehensive information on quarantine restrictions and, in case of necessary, maximally provided assistance.


Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to remind citizens that, from August 10, based on the decision of Inter-Agency Coordination Council, due to high epidemiological risk, entry and exit from Mestia municipality was partially restricted, namely in Mestia settlement, Becho, Etseri, Idliani, Ipari, Kala, Latali, Lakhamuli, Lenjeri, Mulakhi, Nakra, Ushguli, Fari, Tskhumari, Tsvirmi, Tchuberi and Khaishi administrative units. According to the Council decision, entrance to Mestia Municipality direction as well from the mentioned location will be partially restricted, implying that entrance to the municipality will be permitted only to the local population. In case of leaving Mestia Municipality, citizens will have to undergo quarantine period.


Herewith, additional quarantine restrictions have been imposed in Mestia settlement, Ushguli and Lenjeri villages of Mestia municipality, implying the restriction on the internal movement between the mentioned locations.


Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform citizens that all persons on the territory of Georgia must follow requirements of the Georgian legislation on public health.
