The tangible outcomes of targeted capital investment and consistent government policy are directly reflected in sector performance, with 2026 demonstrating record momentum across maritime, rail, and aviation networks. The Prime Minister of Georgia said this during his address at the Georgia International Maritime Forum in Batumi.
“The results of our capital investments and the consistent policy of the Georgian Government are clearly mirrored in key sectoral metrics.
In 2026, we are witnessing record growth dynamics across maritime, rail, and aviation sectors alike. In the maritime domain, the implementation of the Maritime Single Window system has digitised and further streamlined vessel clearance procedures in our seaports. Given the surge in cargo throughput, expanding our port capabilities assumes paramount strategic importance.
It is precisely this objective that the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project serves, where active construction is progressing at pace.
We will develop the Port of Anaklia under the Landlord Port Model, under which the State secures core strategic maritime infrastructure, while the private sector handles terminal development and operations.
This approach effectively balances state strategic interests with private enterprise, opening avenues for broad regional and international participation while guaranteeing equitable access to port infrastructure”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
