A protest rally continues near the ENKA renewables base in the village of Gumati. A minor clash occurred between Namakhvani HPP opponents and police, because protesters did not let the ENKA’s vehicle proceed.

Varlam Goletiani, one of the rally organizers, said that they will not create hinder the traffic except for the ENKA vehicles. Law enforcers are mobilized on the spot.

Rioni guards are going to block the road leading to the ENKA company construction site in Gumati to prevent the construction machinery’s access in the Rioni gorge.

ENKA company director also made a comment. According to Merab Lominadze, they are ready to discuss any issue.

“Negotiations are the only alternative. I distance myself from any kind of violence and support the freedom of speech, freedom of expression, but this does not imply that protesters can cross a line and go beyond the existing legislation. We are ready to review any proposal of those who trust protesters and answer questions from the parties concerned”, - said Merab Lominadze.
