Some of the imposed restrictions are unacceptable to the population

Some of the restrictions imposed by the Coordination Council are unacceptable to the population. According to them, the ban on transport will create problems for the needy people and they will not be able to go to work during the holiday season.

Yesterday the Interagency Coordination Council announced that as a result of communication with the Patriarchate of Georgia, it has been decided to hold the Divine Liturgy in churches in compliance with epidemiological safety norms, including PA systems installed on church premises, and social distancing and facemask use observed.

Also, as an exception, the current restriction on movement will be amended just for one night, namely to apply from 11 PM, May 1 to 4 AM, May 2, in light of the upcoming Easter Liturgy.

On the Interagency Coordination Council’s decision, visits to cemeteries will be restricted through the upcoming holidays, with roads to cemeteries blocked.

May 4-11 have been declared public holidays in Georgia in order to reduce mobility, the reason why, on the decision of the Coordination Council, municipal transport will be suspended from May 3 through May 12.
