The tourist who died in Mestia is a Swiss citizen. According to the mayor of Mestia, Kapiton Zhorzholiani, she was a 29-year-old.

“They were skiing and slipped there. The woman died and the man survived”, - added the mayor.

As a result of the search-and-rescue operation in Mestia region, the body of a woman was found. The Security Management Center 112 received information that a tourist was asking for the help of rescuers in Mestia. Besides, a special call was received from the US about the SOS signal of the tourists in Mestia. Firefighters saved a man’s life and rescued him by helicopter.
