German Ambassador to Georgia released a statement regarding the working conditions of Georgian citizens who have left for Germany for seasonal work.
“After the information spread by the Georgian media, which referred to a group employed for seasonal work on a strawberry farm, I talked to the German authorities about this issue.
The agencies have ensured that all the terms of the contract will be met, including the provision of adequate housing and a minimum wage of 9.5 euros.
Problems may surface everywhere. What matters is providing timely solutions to them.
I am glad media outlets have spread the corresponding information. Hopefully, they will cover the successful implementation of the program with the same attention”, - said Hubert Knirsch.
