As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, exposed a fact of falsification of disinfectants.

Investigation determined that the head of one of the companies exposed in crime, in Tbilisi, in a basement-type building had arranged a homemade workshop, where disinfectants, in the containers of different capacities, were systematically produced, packaged and subsequently sold.

During the investigation, based on the court ruling, control purchases were made and search and seizure activities were conducted at the company"s premises, as a result of which a large amount of packaged disinfectants were seized.

According to the chemical expertise, the quality of disinfectants have been changed, in particular, the product does not contain the substances indicated on its label.

Investigation is underway under the first part of article 197 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 1 to 3 years.
