Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia continues appropriate measures to expose facts of falsification of disinfectants. As a result of investigative activities, criminal prosecution was initiated against two heads of two companies.
Investigation determined that the heads of companies exposed in crime, in order to receive illegal material benefits, were systematically manufacturing, packaging and selling various volumes of disinfectants in the shops and workshops located at different addresses in village Tsilkani of Mtskheta Municipality and in Tbilisi.
Based on the court ruling, during the search of enterprises and sales facilities, a large amount of disinfectants prepared for sale were seized.
Expertise determined that the disinfectants produced by the abovementioned companies have been changed in quality, products do not contain the substances indicated on the label and do not meet the requirements of the hygienic reports issued by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.
Investigation is underway under the first part of article 197 and article 1971 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 1 to 3 years.
