I believe children living here can’t freely express their will – Nino Lomjaria visits Ninotsminda boarding school

The Public Defender has been admitted to the Ninotsminda boarding school for the first time from 2018 today. Nino Lomjaria came to the orphanage with new head of the facility Archbishop Iakob, who recently replaced Archbishop Spiridon in the role.

Despite monitoring delay, the Ombudsman believes the needs of the children should be appraised.

She recommends placing the kids in alternative care after concerns of ongoing sway. The Public Defender thinks the decision should be made in due course.

“I believe that in the facility children are unable to express their will freely and it is important for the remaining 15 children to also be sent to alternative care”, - added Nino Lomjaria.
