According to the Deputy Foreign Minister if Georgia, the Turkish side has confirmed its readiness to take them to Kabul airport in armored vehicles. This operation is underway now and they will be brought to Kabul airport in the near future, from where partners will ensure their arrival back to Georgia.

“We were called yesterday morning, unfortunately, we did not know that they were there. By 2 a.m. we had already secured a former relevant flight from Kabul Airport, it was agreed with our partners and we asked our citizens to arrive at the airport. They could not arrive at the time the flight was scheduled and the Ukrainian board took off without them.

We have talked to other countries, there is also confirmation from them that they will be withdrawn if they get to the airport, several more flights are planned. They could not arrive overnight due to the tense situation in Kabul, so they chose to stay at the base. We are now working to transfer them from their base to Kabul Airport”, - explained Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili.
