Vaccination is the only way to defeat the pandemic, and the vaccine protects us from death, Prime Minister said at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, where he-accompanied by Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava, Minister of Education Mikheil Chkhenkeli, and Chairman of the Government of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze-familiarized himself with the process of vaccination.
The local vaccination center offers immunization to citizens without registration, by physically waiting in line.
Minister of Health of Adjara Nino Nizharadze briefed Irakli Garibashvili on the progress of immunization and citizen activity. According to her, in excess of 98,000 doses have already been administered, and 15% of the population have received at least one dose. Ten vaccination crews are operating at the Batumi State University, to serve 800-1,000 patients a day, while a total of 60 vaccination crews are operating throughout the region.
The Head of Government spoke with local residents and vaccination crew members, including graduating students. Garibashvili underlined the importance of vaccination.
The Prime Minister once again urged citizens to be actively involved in the process of vaccination, and to trust scientists and science, because the vaccine is absolutely safe.
