COVID-19 deaths in the past one week in Georgia and worldwide outnumbered the most common individuals causes of death such as cardiovascular diseases, ischemic heart diseases, stroke and tumors. Such a statement made today the Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control.
“Coronavirus daily deaths in Georgia in the past two weeks have stood at 50-60 which is a very high figure for a country with 3.7 million population.
Samgori field hospital in Tbilisi will admit COVID-19 patients only after two other field hospitals in Didi Digomi and the other on Kavtaradze street are fully used. The two field hospitals are currently used by 40-50%”, - said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
He also added that without the vaccination of individuals over 12 it will be difficult to defeat the pandemic.
