The person arrested on charges of murdering Australian citizen Shanae Brooke in Tbilisi is 33-year-old Rafael Mursakulov.

According to Kurieri, the detainee pleads guilty. He lived near the victim, on Gogebashvili Street. The alleged motive for the murder was robbery - Mursakulov was going to seize Brooke’s iPhone 12, but he could not achieve the goal, because the girl threw the phone in a ravine.

The accused cut his hand with a knife and left traces of his blood at the crime scene, as a result of which, the genetic examination established the detainee’s identity.
