The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) has told director general of the Mtavari Arkhi Nika Gvaramia to “strengthen personal security” as allegedly a hit has been put out against him.

“He was provided with some information and, accordingly, recommendations were given to tighten security measures. Along with Nika Gvaramia, one other journalist has received a similar warning and that the agency is investigating the case”, - said Deputy Head of the Counterterrorism Centre of the SSSG Bacha Mgeladze.

He did not identify the other journalist.
