The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department and Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Prosecutor General"s Office, detained 12 people, including 10 drug dealers, in Ponichala settlement and other districts of Tbilisi as a result of complex operative and investigative activities in November.

The committed crimes envision from 8 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.

The investigation established that the arrested persons sold drugs on the regular basis.

Following the relevant decision of the court, the law enforcers carried out several control purchases of Heroin, Buprenorphine and Alpha-PVP from the defendants and recorded the process.

Investigation is in progress under the Article 260, parts III, IV and VI of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies illegal purchase, storage and selling drugs in especially large quantities.
