The National Bank of Georgia reminds the citizens that the term of use for all GEL denomination banknotes of 1995 and 1999 issue as a means of payment expires at the end of 2021.

From January 1, 2022, exchange of all GEL denomination banknotes of 1995-99 issue will be possible only at the Cash Center of the National Bank of Georgia (address: 72, Kakheti Highway, Tbilisi).

Accordingly, through December 31, 2021, all legal entities and individuals are required to efficiently use the banknotes of all denominations of 1995-99 issue for settlement purposes (provided that they meet the requirements as stipulated in the Regulation on Criteria for Determining the Validity of GEL Banknotes and Coins and Procedure for Acceptance and Replacement, approved under the Resolution No.4 of the Board of the National Bank of Georgia of June 27, 2011).
