The Mayor of Tbilisi gave specific instructions to the Governors during today’s sitting of the capital’s Government.
“It is very important for the members of the Government to have the support of the Mayor and to know that this will be the case, but one thing must be taken into account - we are here to serve Tbilisi and the citizens living in this city. This is fundamentally important. For many, Mayoralty, and the government membership of the capital may be a certain position, but to me personally, and I am sure you have mastered it very well, it means being in service of the people of Tbilisi. The greatest responsibility given to us by the majority of the city"s population is well understood by all of us. The most important for us is that the issues and the problems that exist in the city need a decent answer and response.
It is also very important to have public relations, citizen involvement in the projects we are going to implement. Listening to citizens about who is in trouble, what support is needed. Therefore, we ask the Governors to set aside two days a week - Thursday-Friday, which will be the days of receiving citizens and listening to them. I understand well that of course, we cannot solve all the problems, but when we cannot do something or something that may be against the law, the citizen must have the appropriate answer and know why the specific requirement that they have cannot be met”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
