Traffic movement restricted on First Republic Square, Rustaveli Avenue

Traffic movement has been restricted on First Republic Square and Rustaveli Avenue because of the New Year’s Eve celebrations starting 13:00 today, December 30.

“Vehicles heading from Melikishvili Street to Freedom Square will be able to move on Javakhishvili Street and Rustaveli Avenue only in the direction of Freedom Square. Going from Freedom Square to Melikishvili Street will be possible only by First Republic Square.

Vehicles moving from Melikishvili Street to Freedom Square will be able to get to the First Republic Square via Javakhishvili, Inashvili, Meskhia and Lagidze streets”, - reads the statement of the Tbilisi City Hall.

The restriction will be in effect until Saturday, January 1, 6 a.m.

Tbilisi will celebrate New Year’s Eve with the Friday Gala Concert “Love Each Other”. The event will be hold on the First Republic Square. Gala concert will play melodies well known to Georgian society, including New Year songs. The festive season would continue in Tbilisi until January 14.
