Nino Lomjaria leaves for Strasbourg

Ombudsman of Georgia has left for Strasbourg. During the visit meetings with high ranking officials will be held in the Council of Europe.

“I also plan to meet with the President of the Strasbourg Court. Probably, the focus will be the events that took place in Georgia on July 5 and, of course, I will provide them with information on the state of the investigation. There was, of course, interest in Mikheil Saakashvili’s case.

The purpose of the visit is to share information with the institutions of Strasbourg, the institutions of the Council of Europe regarding the current situation in Georgia in terms of human rights protection”, - said Nino Lomjaria.
