Prime Minister of Georgia spreads an address on the occasion of the International Down Syndrome Day.

“Today we celebrate International Down Syndrome Day with the whole world.

We, all together, are building an equitable humane society, where everyone can enjoy an equal opportunity of participating in the educational, creative, sports, business or public domains; where everyone has the opportunity of working and living a dignified life under the umbrella of a prospering country; where it is not the number of chromosomes that matters, but the care we take for each other.

Our government has taken important steps for the full integration of our citizens with Down Syndrome in health, education, social and employment systems by creating conditions for their self-realization. We attach special importance to creating an environment where they will be more and more actively involved in the decision-making process on the matters related to their well-being.

I personally promise on behalf of myself and the Government of Georgia that we will continue our active work in this direction. I wish peace, longevity and prosperity to each of them and their families”, - writes Irakli Garibashvili.
