Today is the birthday of the legendary Georgian chess player Nona Gaprindashvili. Prime Minister wishes her “a long life full good cheer and happiness”.

“It is with enormous love and special respect that I wish a happy birthday to the legendary Nona Gaprindashvili, the world’s greatest female chess player.

Nona Gaprindashvili has repeatedly claimed recognition for Georgia abroad, consistently making us proud with her excellent performances and impressive victories. Ms. Gaprindashvili has turned her every appearance at Olympic Games and championships into a step forward for Georgian sports and a reason to celebrate and rejoice for Georgian sports fans.

I sincerely wish Ms. Gaprindashvili a long life full good cheer and happiness”, - reads the statement of Irakli Garibashvili.
