The explosion occurred on the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline. Reportedly, the pipeline is damaged on the territory of Kars.
The reasons of the incident are being investigated, the natural gas supply to the region has been suspended.

Governor of Turkey"s Kars Gunay Ozdemir told that the reasons of the explosion in the area of Sarikamis region are not yet identified.

The blast was heard in Sarikamis region, 20 kilometers away from the scene.
