Giorgi Sharabidze, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission, held a briefing and discussed systematic discrediting campaigns targeting E-elections.
“Voting technologies to be used by the Election Administration [EA] for the 2024 parliamentary elections align with international standards as affirmed by published Electronic Means Audit Report’s findings.
The election modernization process is at a crucial stage, and the EA is doing everything to implement the process following international standards successfully. Against this backdrop, the dissemination of disinformation about E-elections carries a systematic nature.
There is an attempt to discredit the electoral process and E-elections and to obscure the successes of the Georgian Election Administration.
The Election Administration remains committed to openness, transparency and accountability. Any issues will be available to electoral stakeholders and the public. In addition, the EA will not leave any fact of disinformation and lies without response and will contribute to providing objective and comprehensive information to the public through active information campaigns”, - said Giorgi Sharabidze.
