The European Union lifted sanctions on Belarus President

The European Union lifted sanctions on Belarus President. The limitations against newly elected Alexander Lukashenko will be canceled for 4 months.
The EU explained the reason for this move by decreased repressions in the pre-electoral period, release of the 6 political prisoners and the role of Belarus in peaceful resolution of the crisis in Ukraine. 

Nevertheless, the OSCE observation mission noted many cases of violation of democratic standardsat during the presidential elections.
