The final list of the people who will vote for the candidate for the position of the Prosecutor General on behalf of the investigative body will be determined today.

Prosecutors have already  elected 6 members of the Board, after the election of two more members , the quota of the Investgation office will be filled.
After that, the High Council of Justice, the Parliament and civil society will fill in the remaining 7 quotas of the 15-member Council.ed.

427 prosecutors and investigators participated in the vote by secret ballot and after the vote count it will be known who will fill the prosecutors`s mandate in the Prosecutorial Council .

Prosecutor Shota Kvachantiradze listed the criteria which a candidate should meet.

"The Chief Prosecutor should not be alien to the system, he must an action plan for the development and strengthening of the independence of the prosecution. He must be distanced from any political force and at the same time he should be objective, impartial, his priority should be international and European standards, tailored to the legal process, "- said Shota Kvachantiradze.
