Transparency International - Georgia has released a statement with regard to Nika Gvaramia`s scandalous statement.

The statement says that "over the past few months it is the second case when the media representative has made astatement about being under illegal surveillance. Law enforcement has not responded to Eka Mishveladze`s statement, . "- is said in the statement.

The statement also underlines that in the absence of timely and adequate response, there will be a legitimate suspicion that the government is indifferent to critically disposed persons and through selective application of the law ignores legal obligation to defend their better interests.

In such a situation there is far more serious doubt that the government itself is organizer of similar threats and blackmail.
