A Director General of Rustavi 2 made a statement on behalf of employees. Nika Gvaramia addressed  the citizens and stated that  according to the developments of last two days  the broadcasting company can not be responsible for supporters, so Rustavi2 not calls on the citizens, to protect the broadcasting company. 

" Until now I was sure that Georgian Government would not cross the red lines, the recent development raised questions. Despite Irakli Garibashvili"s promise, that we will be protected, I don"t trust him.

He is inconsistent and often lies.

We made a decision. we will defend our company ourselves till the end. We can not be responsible for the safety of those people, who come here to protect us. We don"t have  the competence.

 Nobody could give a guarantee that someone will not be a provocateur and lead the processes as some  political parties or government wishes.  We do not rule out that such provocateurs may be between us.

We can not control the process . We disclaim the responsibility of the ongoing developments and don"t call anyone to protect Rustavi2. We will protect the freedom of speech on our own.

The government should protect peace in the country. If the company will need protection, we will do it, if they have to shoot, they have to shoot us,"- said Nika Gvaramia.
