According to Georgian legislation, illegal recordings the authenticity of which has not been established can not be accepted as evidence, though the investigation under a very strict article has been started.

It is not known whether the security service has applied the court for permits without the consent of which eavesdropping is illegal.

Minister of Justice spoke about the need for approval of secret surveillance and explained that the legality of the evidence should be proved not by the attorney or law enforcement agencies, but by the court .
