The Baltic States’ double standard - this is how the ruling team assesses the scandal related to the violation of the sanctions regime by the AirBaltic.
“In general, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have very close economic ties with Russia, despite their statements. But this is their internal matter. When Latvia makes a decision, it proceeds from the interests of its own people, especially since a very large part of the Latvian population is ethnically Russian.
However, the double standard with which Latvia addresses Georgia is condemnable.
A number of cases of violation of the sanctions regime have been identified, including by Georgian customs officers, who successfully cope with their task, and Georgia has never been used to violate sanctions or to assist the Russian Federation in circumventing sanctions”, - said Giorgi Volski, First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament.
