
Oxford University`s Well-Being Research Centre, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and international polling organisation Gallup, published the Global Corruption Perceptions Ranking as part of the World Happiness Report.
The study assessed global perceptions of corruption based on survey responses to two key questions: "How widespread is corruption in government?" and "How widespread is corruption in business?"
Georgia was named among the top-50 least corrupt countries and territories, ranking 41st globally among nations and securing 16th place in Europe.
Georgia outperforms all current EU candidate countries and 19 member states of the EU and NATO: Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Croatia, Poland, Greece, Montenegro, Malta, Slovenia, Turkey, Slovakia, Albania, Hungary, Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, North Macedonia.
The global survey placed Ukraine and Moldova among the bottom 10 countries in terms of corruption perception. Ukraine ranked as the 2nd most corrupt country globally, while Moldova ranked 9th.
