The President of Georgia made a statement on the case of Rustavi 2 and addressed the ruling team. He called on the ruling coalition to refrain from non-diplomatic statements.
"Current events damage the country democratic image and international reputation and , I call on the ruling coalition while assessing the situation not to be limited to only formal statements. I urge to take steps to protect the country"s democratic image.
"It is very important that no questions remain about the independence of the judiciary in Georgia and quality of media freedom.
It is our duty to ensure and protect the rule of law, fair trial, freedom of speech, freedom of expression and media , the inviolability of property and private life, freedom of choice.
"It is our duty to strengthen and not damage the Georgian state, we all should remember this ," - said Margvelashvili.
