Public Defender calls on the Prosecutor`s office of Georgia to promptly, impartially and effectively investigate the violence perpetrated against the lawyer, Giorgi Mdinaradze and identify perpetrators.

Ombudsman also responds to the investigation launched on this case by the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and considers that a the offense was allegedly committed by the police, the investigation and the investigative actions should be to conducted by the prosecutor"s office.

According to Public Defender, the investigation of the offense allegedly committed by the police department by the sme instituation contradicts the laws of Georgia.

The lawyers allege that lawyer Giorgi Mdinaradze was beaten by law enforcers in the Vake-Saburtalo police station while performing his professional duties.
