NGOs criticize an announcement of Member of the High Council of Justice.

One of the members of the High Council of Eva Gotsiridze"s statement triggered criticism from NGOs. Eva Gotsiridze, a non-judge member of the council stated that the freedom of expression can be restricted in favor of keeping the authority of judiciary and it is an European standard.

"It is very wrong, very non-European approach to see the problem not in problem itself, but in the people, who talk about it,"- said Ana Natsgvlishvili, a head of Georgian Young Lawyers" Association,

A lawyer of Transparency International stated that none of the Council members or politicians have to decide when and how the freedom of speech should be restricted.
