Ten non-governmental organizations issued a statement in connection with the fact of physical abuse of lawyer George Mdinaradze. Public sector  demands immediate investigation of the case.

"Such facts further enhance the public"s lack of confidence in the police, undermining any reform in this area and substantially damaging the lawyers" professional activities," - is said in the statement.

The statement also says that the Ministry`s indifference is even more alarming in the context in which the Ministry confirms that the lawyer was under the control of the police.

This fact was negatively assessed by representatives of the NGOs.
