Georgian parliament demands to recuse the Judges of the Constitutional Court on the Case of Rustavi2. The motion has already been registered at the Constitutional Court.
A non-governmental sector calls on the Court to respond the parliament publicly, part of MPs believe that the relations of the past can not be a reason for recusal of two judges and the parliament should represent more compelling evidences.
" Georgia is a small country and we all can have relations with any people, who work on different positions. The fact is that some questions have arisen and raised. Parliament doesn"t appeal only on the close relations, but also has questions on other decisions taken in regard to Rustavi2"s case, So I think would be good if the Constitutional Court"s answer to the Parliament will be public,"- said Ana Natsgvlishvili, a chairman of GYLA.
Transparency International Georgia also made an announcement.
" The fact that someone was working with the concrete individuals a couple of years ago, is not a reason for recusal. This is a low standard of prove. There should be
more compelling evidences,"- said Gia Gvilava, a manager of the project at Transparency International Georgia.
