The EU will strengthen border control because of the threat of terrorist attacks. The agreement was reached at the emergency meeting of the member states` interior and justice ministers .

The new inspection rules will be established for citizens from all countries , including the countries which have visa-free regime with the EU and citizens of member states .

Tightening controls for the Europeans was demanded by France. Paris explained that most of the extremists are already the EU member states` citizens.

The ministerial meeting has supported two more French initiatives. By the end of the year, the European Union will set up a inunified data base of avia passengers and potentially dangerous persons and will enact special norms in order to combat terrorist financing.
