Russia has suspended its visa-free regime with Turkey. The decision will enter into force on the first of January 2016. The news agency RIA Novosti spread the news basing on the Russian Foreign Ministry .

Lavrov said that the decision to suspend visa-free regime was taken by the Russian authorities and it does not represent a threat against anyone.

The relations between Russia and Turkey worsened on November 24 when the Turkish military shot down Russian bombers Su24.
