The Government of Georgia operates with complete transparency, every single government act is published. The Prime Minister of Georgia said this during his annual report to Parliament.
“Transparency is one of the best safeguards against any form of malpractice… We have abandoned various flawed practices, such as the direct sale of state property. Furthermore, highly significant reforms have been implemented within state-owned enterprises. Collectively, these efforts have been aimed at completely eradicating corrupt practices from our governance system, which was one of our central tasks over the past year.
I can confidently state that during this year, we have substantially achieved this fundamental goal. Once again, I invite anyone, be they opponents or otherwise, to present even a single fact or suspicion concerning corruption from this reporting period, which begins in June last year, and each of us will take full responsibility. I have raised this challenge multiple times, including during debates, yet our opponents failed to present a single such case.
For us, this is undeniable proof that corruption in the upper echelons of power has been fundamentally defeated. Of course, the fight against corruption requires constant vigilance, particularly at lower levels, and the government will naturally remain fully focused on this direction in the future. However, I can firmly reiterate that high-level corruption has been fundamentally eliminated and defeated, and this is one of the primary achievements of the Georgian government’s work over the past year”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
