Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Olzhas Bektenov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Head of Government of Georgia noted that the signing of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership marks the beginning of a qualitatively new stage in bilateral relations and will contribute to the further deepening of political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
It was also noted that the memorandums signed during the visit in various fields provide a solid foundation for further strengthening sectoral cooperation.
“Our visit to Kazakhstan is of profound significance, as we have signed the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership. It will create new opportunities to deepen and strengthen our bilateral cooperation and further reinforce the friendship between our countries and peoples.
We are pleased to witness Kazakhstan’s strong progress, its economic achievements and the strengthening of its political standing both regionally and globally.
Kazakhstan is a very important partner for Georgia. I would like to congratulate you on the successful constitutional referendum. Kazakhstan’s modernization and the strengthening of its state institutions are truly impressive and we are delighted to see this positive development in your country.
We look forward to further expanding our bilateral cooperation across all areas. The political dimension of our partnership is particularly important to us. Thank you for your support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for our productive cooperation in international formats. We are witnessing very positive trends in the development of our economic ties and we are confident that this visit and the Strategic Partnership Agreement will create new opportunities for further deepening our bilateral cooperation”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan congratulated his Georgian colleague on receiving one of Kazakhstan’s highest state awards and emphasized the importance of launching new joint initiatives to further deepen bilateral economic cooperation.
“Mr. Prime Minister, your official visit is a testament to the dynamic development of relations between Kazakhstan and Georgia and once again underscores the high level of political dialogue, mutual trust and strong partnership between our countries.
Yesterday, you held productive talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Allow me to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate you on receiving one of Kazakhstan’s highest state awards-the Order of Dostyk.
Kazakhstan regards Georgia as a trusted friend and an important strategic partner in the South Caucasus. We also highly appreciate Georgia's growing role as a regional transport and logistics hub connecting Central Asia, the South Caucasus, the Black Sea region and Europe.
Trade and investment cooperation remain among the highest priorities on our bilateral agenda. During the first four months of this year, bilateral trade reached 53 million USD, clearly demonstrating the significant potential of our economic partnership. Over the past two decades, Kazakhstan’s investments in Georgia have exceeded 570 million USD. Today, over 600 companies with Georgian participation operate in Kazakhstan, providing a solid foundation for further expanding business-to-business cooperation.
To enhance investment activity, we propose that the Intergovernmental Commission develop concrete proposals for launching new joint projects and expanding industrial cooperation. Particular attention could be given to food processing, petrochemicals, transport services, manufacturing, construction materials and logistics.
The Government of Kazakhstan stands ready to further deepen dialogue and practical cooperation with the Government of Georgia”, - said Olzhas Bektenov.
The expanded meeting between the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Kazakhstan was attended by members of the governments of both countries.
