The First Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG], addressed a conference held within the framework of the UN Counter-Terrorism Week in New York. Lasha Magradze focused on the global challenges regarding international terrorism and emphasized the importance of developing mechanisms to address them effectively.

As he said, Georgia categorically opposes any manifestation of terrorism and actively cooperates with relevant international or regional organizations and partner countries to overcome the threats posed by global terrorism. Furthermore, in accordance with the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, Georgia continuously implements appropriate measures to raise the country's level of readiness against terrorist threats.

Speaking at the UN Headquarters, Lasha Magradze reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness for cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats in the fight against terrorism.

Within the framework of the event, working meetings were also held on the topic of national and regional counter-terrorism strategies, as well as best practices in combating terrorism and its financing. Giorgi Berianidze, Head of the Counter-Terrorist Center of the SSSG, participated in these meetings.
