Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the one-on-one meeting, the two leaders discussed the growing momentum of cooperation between their countries.
They underscored the significance of the first-ever visit to Georgia by a President of Uzbekistan for further deepening bilateral relations. The Head of Government of Georgia noted that the signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement would elevate bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level and further strengthen political, trade and economic and cultural ties between Georgia and Uzbekistan.
The meeting also focused on prospects for cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors. It was noted that regional connectivity and infrastructure development represent one of the strategic priorities of cooperation between the two countries.
The leaders also discussed the importance of strengthening the Middle Corridor as a reliable and competitive transit route.
