Twelve countries have already joined the German initiative to abolish the rule of consensus decision-making in the European Union. “Georgian Dream” believes that if this initiative is implemented, the EU will, almost guaranteed, transform from an association of equal members into a union managed by large states.

Assessments differ in other political parties. According to Ana Tsitlidze, a member of the Political Council of the “Unity - National Movement” party, the European Union represents an opportunity for Georgia's freedom, independence, and the restoration of its territorial integrity.

“I do not know what source you are relying on. No, really, is it not possible for me to lack information on something?! I can tell you one thing: Georgia left alone face-to-face with Russia can be neither free nor independent. The European Union has the capability; the EU is an opportunity for Georgia to be free, independent, and, among other things, to restore its territorial integrity”, - said Ana Tsitlidze.
