The Prosecutor`s Office of Georgia has charged one person with forced sexual intercourse and invasion of privacy.

An investigation conducted by the Investigation Department of the Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Mtianeti District Prosecutor`s Office established that the accused forced the victim to have sexual intercourse with him by threatening to distribute footage depicting the secrets of her private life, and after receiving a refusal, he distributed intimate photographs of the victim using a social network.

The detainee was charged under Article 139, Part 1 and Article 157, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment.

The Prosecutor`s Office has already petitioned the court to use imprisonment as a preventive measure for the accused.
