At the Kutaisi Airport Customs Checkpoint, customs officers prevented two attempts to import undeclared gold bars and coins.
As a result of a detailed inspection conducted by authorized officers of both Georgian and foreign nationals, including a physical examination of the individuals and a thorough inspection of their baggage, a total of 106 grams of gold items were discovered.
The total customs value of the undeclared goods amounted to GEL 40 112.
Pursuant to Article 168, Part 1 of the Customs Code of Georgia, the Georgian citizen was fined GEL 5 372 as a sanction. In the case of the foreign national, the case materials were forwarded to the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance for further action.
