The inmate of Kutaisi prison nailed his hand in protest. Otar Apridonidze has been on hunger strike for the second day. He also sewed up his mouth.

The detainee"s family says that he wants to start working in order to support his family. However, the administration does not give him this chance because of personal iterests.

The Ministry of Corrections responded to the allegations of his family members in writing.

"The applicant"s claim is not related to violation of rights or living conditions. Apridonidze request relating to the transfer to open type establishments and employment issues, are being studied by the relevant penitentiary department.
