The Georgian Muslims Union responded to the proposed draft regarding insult of religious feelings. They believe that freedom of expression and freedom of religion should not come into a conflict with one another.
"We condemn any kind of violence, hate speech, efforts of bringing into confrontation and discord of various identity groups. We believe that if the bill becomes a law, it will restrict freedom of expression and freedom of speech," - the statement says.
According to the bill, which was proposed by a ruling coalition lawmaker Soso Jachvliani, insult of religious feelings will become an administrative offense.
